The Synopsis

Besides your script, the synopsis is probably the most important piece of writing relating to your film. It is a one- or two-page outline of your film, introducing the characters and  including the beginning, middle, end and all the major plot points of your story.

The synopsis will be used to develop the characters and plot of your film and later to pitch it to the directors, producers and others in the film industry.

For more on writing that compelling synopsis, read my recent column on the online writing magazine writing.ie.
